| M and Zen designs and
manufactures high quality silk, cotton and velvet jackets. We create
elegant and unique designs every season that can be found in
boutiques around the United States. Michele Mulligan launched M and Zen in September 2006. While on vacation in Vietnam she met a tailor who offered to make any type of clothing she desired. Finding that most jackets do not have a lot of character, she experimented with different designs. Armed with creativity and beautiful materials, a venture was soon born. When Michele returned from Vietnam with ten jackets and many compliments on her designs, she began to sell to people around Boston. Stores around New England followed. With a background in Public Relations and the travel industry and no formal design background, she has done a fantastic job learning the industry through a combination of passion and trial and error. "Discovering my passion for design has been fun and challenging. I feel like the sky is the limit," she says of her work. Michele currently splits her time between Boston and La Jolla, California. |
